For several local bands, a new year means new music on the way, and that includes Bitter Birds. The dark pop duo, featuring guitarist/vocalist Singer Mayberry and husband, drummer/vocalist David Lujan, have been working on the follow-up to their 2013 EP, Pessoas Invisíveis.
No official date has been announced for the new release yet, but chances are good you’ll get to hear some of the new tunes at Bitter Birds’ show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. It’s an excellent Monday-night line-up with Summer Swells, The Dizzease, Ruby Fray, and a new musical project by members of The Dizzease, Haenyeo. The music starts at 8 p.m. Recommended.
