Music is the light that has gotten songwriter Daisy O’Connor through the darkest of times. It was also the shining in-your-face answer to what was literally a quarter-life crisis. O’Connor was faced with the ultimate question: Are you doing what you love? She quite a relatively sane career in social work and took to the road, without looking back. This was meant to be. And our ears are richer for it.
This year, O’Connor releases her debut album, Lightchasers, a beautiful and engaging tapestry of folk, pop, rock and country. Join her for the album release celebration show tonight at the Cactus Cafe, 24th St. and Guadalupe in the Texas Union building. Doors at 8 p.m., and the music begins at 8:30 p.m. Recommended.
