Native Austin band, Feverbones, visited Studio 1A to perform a few songs and talk about their new album, Dream Talk. They told us this album “was a cool opportunity for us to kind of try some things that we don’t get an opportunity to try with other projects.” The energetic psych rock is both weird and gorgeous. Check out the full session and interview below.

Bedouine is currently an NPR Slingshot Artist for 2018, and NPR just released her Tiny Desk Concert. Azniv Korkejian told us about how her various travels have inspired her art, and that she even lived in Texas for a year in 2006 attending The University of Texas at Austin. She also told us that she hopes to get back into the studio soon to record her next album. Check out her full studio session and interview below.

Ty Segall 4.27.18

Ty Segall joined us in Studio 1A to perform a few songs before his Levitation show at Barracuda. The band consists of Ty Segall on vocals and guitar, Charles Moothart on drums, Ben Boye on keyboard, Emett Kelly on guitar and vocals, and Micheal Cronen on bass. The band’s fuzzy psychedelic rock album, Freedom’s Goblin, was released this January, and perfectly captures the essence of a chaotic freedom. When we asked how Segall was able to maintain that sense of freedom through his stylistic choices, he responded, “I have no idea. I’m just lucky enough to have people that want to put out my records and play with me- and it’s amazing.” Check out the full studio session, including the 14 minute guitar jam “Warm Hands” in the player below.
