As the drummer for The Beatles – as well during his almost 50-year solo career – Ringo Starr has always been about “peace and love”. Yet the 77-year-old legend can’t preach harmony enough as the title of his 19th album attests: it’s called Give More Love.
On the telephone earlier this month, Ringo gave plenty of love during an almost 15-minute conversation, talking about his long-time fondness for Texas, recording for one of Ray Wylie Hubbard’s recent albums, working again with Paul McCartney, remembering Tom Petty and more.
Give a listen to the interview with KUTX’s Jody Denberg (below) and get ready for Ringo And The All Starr Band’s return to ACL Live on Halloween night, October 31. As Ringo reminds us – “wear a mask”!
