There’s no word for purple in Tamajeq, the language spoken by the Tuareg. But the influence of Prince’s Purple Rain was still strong for Tuareg guitar virtuoso Mdou Moctar, who reimagines Prince’s 1984 film against the backdrop of a desert city in Niger. KUTX and Austin Film Society present the screening the night before Moctar’s concert at Hotel Vegas.
