Adam Torres @ KUTX 04.22.2015

Singer-songwriter Adam Torres‘s work is like buried musical treasure.

A former member of the Ohio band Southeast Engine and now living in Austin, Adam Torres’ solo releases have been relatively few and far between. His 2006 debut Nostra Nova, which steadily developed a cult following, was a collection of chamber folk songs inspired by Adolf Wolfli and C.G. Jung, while his follow up was 2011’s self-titled collection of sparse and eerie demos. However, Nostra Nova has just been re-issued, seeing its first official release, bringing Torres’ familiar yet challenging tunes and his melancholic collision of the delicate and the strange to a whole new audience.

You can watch Adam Torres perform live tonight, April 23rd, at the Cactus Cafe and you can stream his music right here on KUTX.
