Every month we turn the spotlight on a new release from a Texas artist with a series of weekly features that give you a sneak peek at the new music and some insight into the artist behind it.
A. Sinclair has been associated with a few different names throughout his career. At one point in time Sinclair, now one of Austin’s most highly regarded songwriters, was a member of Boston punk group The Lot Six until they disbanded in 2006. Upon relocating to the Live Music Capital in his home state, Sinclair went on to found Frank Smith and explore a more self-defined sound in the midst of touring and recording. Now settled in Austin, Sinclair has rebuilt his sound and band under the name A. Sinclair.
A. Sinclair epitomizes full-on rock, complete with massive guitar riffs, boozy vocals, and a driving swagger. The Austin fan base for Frank Smith has carried over for A. Sinclair, especially with their recent releases under the new name. Their 2014 album Pretty Girls, available for digital download, is rife with indie rock and post-punk influences that’ll make your heart rate accelerate.

From his latest record, Pretty Girls, A. Sinclair’s “How Many Ways” is featured as our Song of the Day! Featuring a distorted vocal performance and excellent guitar solo this track is guaranteed to be an ear worm.
