Betty Soo’s melodic voice complements the guitar, violin, and cello included in her songs. Her songs, no two sounding exactly the same, range from country music to alternative rock. Whether it be fast tempo “Summertime” or slower ballad “Josephine”, from her album When We’re Gone, there is a song for everyone. After five years since her last solo album, she includes a sense of pop and americana on her latest, gaining influence from her many collaborations with other artists. What’s more her newest album includes a portion of the profits going to SIMS Foundation, a nonprofit in Austin, TX geared toward mental health in the music community.
