You may know Casey McPherson as the lead man of the alt-rock/classical group Alpha Rev. He is an expert at creating heart-wrenching orchestral ballads. Alpha Rev’s lush, emotional arrangements will make the biggest Scrooges among us get a little choked up.
However, Alpha Rev is not McPherson’s only passion. He is also a board member at the Austin Child Guidance Center, an organization dedicated to improving the mental health of children and families. He and Director of Development Renée Hanson Malone stopped by Studio 1A to talk about their upcoming fundraiser, the 7th Annual Austin Originals Benefit Concert. Alongside musical performances, the event will feature multiple auctions and bites from local staples like Roaring Fork and Gusto.
