The Jayhawks are back at it again, touring behind the reissue of Sound of Lies (1997), Smile (2000), and Rainy Day Music. In the late 90s the group found themselves without a co-founding member, but with a new direction. Favoring drum machines and soundscapes over Dylan-esque roots, the band embarked on a new and critically successful chapter. The subsequent releases proved the band’s pop capabilities, charged with reverb and a bit of drum looping, the three final albums solidify a discography that transcends genres.
