Austin’s own four-piece psych-pop outfit WURVE is making their debut with new record, “Memory Bleach,” out April 19th on Yippee Ki Yay Records & Burger Records. The band’s sound ranges from upbeat to darker tunes, always gravitating toward psychedelic and experimental sounds. The tracks from the new album are fast and hard-hitting progressions with scuzzy guitar tones, swells of reverb and warbly, echoing vocals influenced by the Jesus and Mary Chain and reminiscent of Spiritualized. The band’s sound packs a punch, and has earned them rapport among local psych-rock circles. Keep an eye out for WURVE shows around town, and tune into their Studio 1A session in the player below.
