My KUTX: Enrique Chi (Making Movies) & Steve Berlin (Los Lobos)

The influences and ideas that went into Making Movies’ I Am Another You are pretty crazy. Singer/guitarist Enrique Chi and producer Steve Berlin (also known for his saxophone work in Los Lobos) discussed merging everything from Kendrick Lamar and the Beatles to Cuban jazz and the Clash. The craziest thing? It totally works. I Am Another You is one of the year’s standout albums, a protest record that doesn’t forget to party. To paraphrase Funkadelic, “free your ass, and your mind will follow.”

This week on My KUTX, we’re excited to have Enrique and Steve as our guest DJs. They discuss the making of the record and play an hour of ear-and-mind opening music. Tune in on Saturday, December 9, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
