My KUTX: Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak and Flock Of Dimes

Whether it’s with her band Wye Oak or her solo project Flock Of Dimes, Jenn Wasner writes enigmatic songs. They sit between rock catharsis and electronic headiness, crammed with lyrical and musical ideas that make them endlessly replayable. She’s not content with sounding quite like anybody else, and her guest DJ set follows suit. Wasner picks a lot of under-the-radar music, but it’s not from some holier-than-thou pedestal. She’s simply a curious listener, one who has time for everything from Italian disco and Japanese dance music to ’70s folk-rock. It’s a hell of a trip. Hear Jenn Wasner’s My KUTX on Saturday, October 21, 6-7 p.m. or anytime at the bottom of the page.
