My KUTX: Jimmie Vaughan

Jimmie Vaughan

Jimmie Vaughan is one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, and his own brother Stevie Ray Vaughan would probably be the first to tell you. Jimmie helped put Austin on the blues map after moving to town from Dallas in the ’70s. This week on My KUTX, he spins a lot of his favorite blues and R&B, songs that he first heard while growing up in Dallas. This is a re-broadcast of an episode taped in 2015, but Jimmie plays all American music, so we think it’s perfect for July 4 weekend. Crack open a cold one and have a ball, y’all: tune in Saturday, July 2 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
