My KUTX: Nina Diaz

Nina Diaz is the KUTX Artist of the Month for October.

Nina Diaz has been a leading light for Texas music thanks to her barnstorming band Girl In A Coma. But on October 28, she’s making her solo debut with The Beat Is Dead, an eclectic record that chronicles her sobriety and tries out some new sounds along the way. Diaz effortlessly combines hard rock, punk, and dance elements, and she’s still a force of nature onstage. Catch her live in Studio 1A on Tuesday, October 25 at 8:30 p.m. and at 3TEN at ACL Live on Thursday, October 27.

This week on My KUTX, Diaz is our guest DJ, playing a selection of songs that have influenced her throughout her life. She also talks about touring with Morrissey, performing with Selena’s family, and fighting back against misogyny in the music industry. Tune in Saturday, October 22 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
