My KUTX: Thomas Dolby

If there’s a single throughline in Thomas Dolby’s new memoir, The Speed Of Sound, it’s curiosity. The British new wave star hit it big in 1982 with “She Blinded Me With Science” and rounded out the decade by working with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, and Foreigner. He remade himself as a Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur in the ’90s, and he’s recently served as both the Music Director for the TED Conference and as as Professor of the Arts at Johns Hopkins University.

This week on My KUTX, Dolby takes us through his life in music and technology with a guest DJ set that could serve as the soundtrack to The Speed Of Sound. Tune in Saturday, November 12 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
