Mayor Adler’s Omnibus Resolution Now Has Plan of Action

Four months ago, Mayor Steve Adler announced his dedication to augmenting the souring state of the Austin music scene, an initiative officially named the Austin Music and Creative Ecosystem Omnibus Resolution. Fast forward to yesterday when Mayor Adler announced the Resolution’s resulting plan of action. The “Music & Creative Ecosystem Stabilization Recommendations” is a long, dense evaluation of the weaknesses in the Austin music industry and a plan of action to rectify it, starting with 10 “Priority Recommendations.” Included in that 10 are a proposal for streamlining the process for obtaining licensures for music venues, incentives for venues to seek and maintain high quality and safety standards, an Agent of Change Principle, which aims to put an end to the volume issue between residences and music venues by making the newer party adapt to the older one, and ATXPORT, a development section dedicated to popularizing and branding Austin music outside of the United States.
