The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin is set to unveil it’s next highly anticipated SoundSpace installation titled, Come As You Are: Art of the 1990’s. The exhibit’s theme covers numerous ideas including, the internet, globalization, and identity politics. Attendees will have the opportunity to view as well as participate in many of the presentations including a boombox choir, performance pieces from the 90’s and experimental music sets. There will be a number of other artists showcasing their work that are absolutely astounding and one of a kind, including a Telematic performance which has musicians playing around the world synced through the internet, Dave Dove, the director of Houston’s Nameless Sound, will present an original piece on trombone, electronics and subwoofers that was influenced by DJ Screw, and so much more.

There are many more artists and sets to check out so make sure to head to The Blanton when the exhibit opens up on February 28th. Lucky for us, Steve Parker and Matt Steinke stopped by Studio 1A and shared with us some of their work which you can listen to and download right here on KUTX.
