What could be better than hearing great musicians – from here in Austin and all over the world – on KUTX? How about seeing them perform live for you and a handful of like-minded music fans?
KUTX’s Studio 1A offers our listeners a chance to do just that. Because it’s a small space, and fills up quickly, we created the KUTX Concert Club to give our members a chance to reserve their seats before the general public.
You can join the KUTX Concert Club when your support KUTX with a donation of $50 per month (or a one-time donation of $600.) As a member of the KUTX Concert Club, you’ll receive weekly e-mails with the first opportunity to reserve your seats in Studio 1A. And there are lots of opportunities! KUTX hosts, on average, one audience session per week.
Who will you see? In the last year we’ve hosted Patty Griffin, Blitzen Trapper, Heartless Bastards, Alejandro Escovedo, Shearwater, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Kurt Vile and many others. We know $50 per month isn’t for everyone. Don’t worry, there will still be seats available. We’ll give them away on the air, on kutx.org, and via our Facebook and Twitter pages. These are public media studios after all, and we have all of our members to thank for that. (Plus, you can always hear these sessions live on the air.)

How often are concerts in Studio 1A?
We strive for one audience-attended performance a week. We often have several bands in each week and select one or two for the Concert Club as appropriate. There are only a few weeks a year where Studio 1A is dark.
When do these performances take place?
Most of these are Monday through Friday, during business hours. We know not everyone can make daytime performances, so we strive to offer two evening performances per month, via our KUTX After Hours series.
How long are they?
Most visitors to Studio 1A play anywhere from 3-5 songs for our audience. These sessions are frequently broadcast live, so they’ll often involve a brief interview with a KUTX host.
I heard clapping but I don’t remember receiving an invitation to that concert – why wasn’t I invited?
Some bands request that we do not have a full audience. In those cases, we are unable to offer tickets. The clapping you heard is likely from the band’s crew, own invitation list or KUTX staff.
As a member of the KUTX Concert Club, how many tickets can I reserve?
Your membership in the KUTX Concert Club allows you to reserve up to two seats. (You may not be able to claim seats to every show – some “sell out” faster than others. However, this is extremely rare.)
I signed up for tickets but I can’t attend. How do I cancel?
If you learn that you cannot attend a concert, please contact [email protected] so that others can enjoy the show. Notifying us shows respect for your fellow music fans (some sessions have a wait list) and for our visiting artists (who would always prefer to perform to a full room.)
A show filled up before I had a chance to reserve tickets – is there a wait list?
We can put you on a wait list. Please email [email protected] and we’ll notify you if we think there will be room.
Are there any other benefits to being in the Concert Club?
Every Concert Club Member will receive a digital download of our most recent KUTX Live Volume. (Two volumes are produced per year to coincide with each membership drive.)
I joined the Concert Club but I haven’t received an email. How can I ensure I’m getting the emails?
The emails come from “KUTX Concert Club” or [email protected] and typically have a subject line of “Concert Club Ticket Opportunities.” If you do not find an email from us in your inbox nor your junk mail folder (please do check junk mail), please send an email to [email protected] with your name and the email you prefer. We’ll check your account to ensure we have the correct email on file.
