My KUTX: Hayes Carll

Austin’s Hayes Carll straddles the line between country and folk, but he could just as easily be a comedian or poet. His songs are hilarious and heartfelt–his lyrics will get stuck in my head for days.

Carll’s fifth album, Lovers And Leavers, is out April 8, and he’s also in town for SXSW. You can catch him this Saturday, March 19 at the Four Seasons at 10 a.m. and at Threadgill’s at 8 p.m. It’s as good a time as any to re-broadcast Carll’s guest DJ set. He’s got a lot of great, personal stories about his song picks. Listen in the player at the bottom of the page.
