My KUTX: Sylvan Esso

Sylvan Esso–a duo out of North Carolina featuring Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn–released its self-titled debut in 2014, and it still sounds forward-thinking, blending R&B, electronic, folk, and pop. The group drops its second album, What Now, on April 28, and this week Sylvan Esso is all over SXSW (they’re also back in Austin for a date at Stubb’s on August 30).

Back in 2015, Meath and Sanborn taped an episode of My KUTX, spinning their favorite songs and talking about sexy jams, synth sounds, and Wyclef Jean’s questionable decision-making. It’s still one of our best guest DJ episodes, and you can hear it again on Saturday, March 18 at 6 p.m. or anytime at the bottom of the page.
