You might not know the name Jim Eno, but you certainly know his work. He’s the drummer and producer for Spoon, the man behind Public Hi-Fi recording studios, and now he’s the head of his own label. This week on the Austin Music Experience, we talk with Eno about recording Lady Gaga, the new Spoon album, and Spoon’s legendary bad luck in their early years. Plus, we dig out some live recordings from some Jim Eno-associated artists, including the Relatives, Telekinesis, and a rarity from Spoon. Also, we’ll remember the late songwriter and Texas poet laureate Steve Fromholz with a remarkable live performance from our archives. Join us Friday at noon and again at 11pm on KUTX 98.9, or listen anytime in the player below.
