From their roots as a punk band, Austin’s White Denim has grown exponentially over the years. Nowadays, you’ll hear traces of jazz, funk, and country mixed in. Fresh off their Corsicana Lemonade tour, White Denim join us in Studio 1A for a few songs and talks about how Jeff Tweedy of Wilco molded the album’s sound. Also, rock and roll hall-of-famer Ian McLagan celebrates his 69th birthday. He’s also in Studio 1A, and he recounts some Faces memories–who knew the Rolling Stones’ Charlie Watts was such a meticulous painter? Plus, a preview of Pachanga Fest, a look back at Austin Psych Fest, and a fest of live music on this week’s Austin Music Experience. Join us Friday at noon and again at 11pm on KUTX 98.9.
