The ebb and flow of “Tidewater Rain Love,” featured on today’s Austin Music Minute by The Dan Ryan, was born of a revelatory songwriting moment for Nathan Dixey, following a tour of France with band Hospital Ships and later making his way to California. Dixey was experiencing an exhilarating moment of freedom after gaining a new life perspective. It was time for a change, and music would be the key element.
“Tidewater Rain Love” is on The Dan Ryan’s new self-titled debut LP, set for release this Friday, but there’s an album release show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River, also featuring performances by Thor & Friends and Hospital Ships. Doors open at 7 p.m. Recommended.
