ACL Fest and More: Saturday

All right, happy campers. You may have heard a few thunder booms earlier today, but you ain’t a-scairt, are ya? No. Besides, your humble Austin Music Minute host has multiple recommendations for you to check out this evening, not only at ACL Fest but at fest alternatives, Saustex Records‘ delightful beast Austin Corn Lovers Fiesta and Raw Paw‘s Ditch the Fest.

Let’s do this:

-Hitting the big ACL Fest stages tonight – the goddess known as St. Vincent (7:30 p.m. Miller Lite Stage), whoooa Nelly (7 p.m. HomeAway Stage), Residente (7:30 p.m. Barton Springs Stage), Metallica (8 p.m. American Express Stage), and featured on today’s AMM, Justice (8:30 p.m. Honda Stage).

-Official ACL Fest Late Night shows include X Ambassadors and The Nude Party at the Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th St.; and Shame and Naked Giants at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th St.

-The second night of Austin Corn Lovers Fiesta is unleashed tonight at The White Horse, 500 Comal St., featuring the Beaumonts, the Prussian Pompadours, Hickoids, Western Star, Churchwood and Mean Motor Scooter. The music starts at 8 p.m., freak. Rev it up and get down.

-Raw Paw shows you the way to Ditch the Fest at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River, with Calliope Musicals, Alesia Lani, SMiiLE, TC Superstar, Van Mary and many others. Doors 5 p.m., music 5:30 p.m. Nice and early. And badass.

-To give you a head start, here are some ACL Fest picks for tomorrow afternoon – The Relatives (11:15 a.m. Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage), my darlings Sailor Poon (11:30 a.m. Barton Springs Stage), Elle King (3 p.m. HomeAway Stage), my favorite jerkfaces Parquet Courts (3 p.m. Barton Springs Stage), Khruangbin (4 p.m. Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage), AMM featured artist Janelle Monae (4 p.m. American Express Stage), Shakey Graves (7 p.m. Barton Springs Stage), Phoenix (6 p.m. Honda Stage) and Arctic Monkeys (8 p.m. Honda Stage).

That enough for you? It’s only the first weekend. More on the way.
