Here are a few more recommended showcases to add to your SXSW adventure time this evening. Your humble Austin Music Minute host has selected a few groovy trips to try, a mix of official showcases and shows off the beaten path:
–Levitiaton continues its gi-normous official 2017 showcase tonight at the adjoining Hotel Vegas and Volstead spaces on E. 6th. So many great bands. AMM faves include The Blind Suns (Angers, France), Dead Meadow (Washington, D.C.), Golden Dawn Arkestra, and Ringo Deathstarr.
-A very special treat presented by RajiWorld, teaming up with SXSW for a showcase at The Palm Door, 401 Sabine. Show stoppers Cotton Mather (featured on today’s AMM), Akina Adderley & The Vintage Playboys, EMQ and Psiplay and Analee Cantu are on the bill.
-Turn it up past 11. It’s time for badass face-melting at the Boss Tweed Backline Presents Sailor Records showcase at Friends, 208 E. 6th St., featuring AMM fave Greenbeard, Native Daughters (Denver, CO), Necropanther (Denver, CO) and more.
-Local hip-hop outfit MINDZ of A Different KIND is having an EP release show tonight at Radio Coffee and Beer, 4204 Manchaca Blvd. And the party will be out of control.
