Burning Nights

Any band worth its salt will tell you: You’ve got to tour, tour, tour. Come hell or high water, you find a way to take your music on the road and spread it to the masses. Sons of Fathers knows this all too well, but they wanted to spend some time on their home turf first before setting out in late March, starting with a run through the West Coast and Canada. Europe is next on the list.

Dynamic duo David Beck and Paul Cauthen, the main minds behind Sons of Fathers, recently told the Austin Chronicle that they’re quite fond of the indoor stage at the Mohawk and the intimacy that the room has. They set their sights on a January Tuesday-night residency there.

The Sons of Fathers residency continues tonight at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, along with special guests Grace Park & The Deer and songwriter Danny Malone. Each week features different guest performers as well:  Killer Whale and Wildfires next week, and The Canvas People and Ruby Jane on Feb. 4th. The music starts each night at 9 p.m. Recommended.
