Climbing

Over a span of six years, Devin James Fry immersed himself in a musical journey that reflected his life’s wanderings. It was no ordinary collection of songs he penned. They took on otherworldly lives of their own, weaving and winding down paths that could only come from a mystical place. The spirit of Salesman feels at home in a desert landscape beneath a nighttime sky. Just keep in mind that deserts can be haunted, too.

Now, after building a beautiful collection of well-crafted EPs, the journey has lead to Salesman’s debut full-length vinyl release, Escalante, so in tune with Fry’s mystical imagery.

The album features original artwork by Kati Rose Pipkin and Eva Claycomb, and you have the opportunity to get your own copy at Salesman’s album release show tonight at Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River. The celebration includes performances by (((sounder))), RF Shannon and Ruby Fray. Doors open at 8 p.m.

It’s truly a night of enchantment. Very recommended.
