Musical residencies a-plenty this summertime for several local artists. Count in The Rotten Mangos, who begin their month-long Tuesday night series at The Volstead, Hotel Vegas‘ hi-diddly-ho next door neighbor at 1500 E. 6th St.
Mangos’ vocalist and guitarist Ramiro Verdooren and drummer Cristian Sigler released their dreamy debut, Couldn’t Find A Word, last year. It’ll fit in quite nicely with your summer soundtrack with all it’s sunshiny, hazy-phazey lo-fi glory. (Today’s AMM featured the title track, but make sure you check out “Take Care When the Wind Blows,” and instant AMM fave “In Love with the Afternoon.”)
The music starts at 8 p.m. sharp tonight, and if you’re so inclined, you can indulge in the badass pop-up shops from Fine Southern Gentlemen, BLK Vinyl and more. Recommended.
