Do What May

Who: Pop rock band and longtime Austin Music Minute fave The Sour Notes continue to create some delectable pop treats for the ears, and you’ve heard your humble AMM hostess rave about this before. Songwriter and front man Jared Boulanger has a knack for pairing the perfect elements together, whether it’s arrangements with textures, assorted instrumentation or just the right vocal mixes.

What: Fans have been eagerly anticipating Do What May, The Sour Notes’ fifth full-length release. After a few previews, and several impressive reviews rolling in since earlier this summer, it was released this past Tuesday. Woo! To mark the occasion, The Sour Notes are having their release party tonight, with a spectacular all-local-band bill, including Grape St., Chris Catalena & The Native Americans, Black Books, Genuine Leather, and Pollen.

When: See them all tonight, starting at 8 p.m.

Where: Both stages at Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River.

Why: This could most appropriately be referred to as one massive extravaganza. Look at that line-up! And The Sour Notes’ new album is ready for your perusal. Recommended.
