Everything

Loads of raves on today’s Austin Music Minute for PR Newman‘s new release, Turn Out, a sweet soul/pop, Americana, rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza that’s deceptively stripped down on the surface, then built up by layers of vocals, badass horns and assorted odds and ends in a tumultuous and well-crafted din. Front man Spencer Garland assembled an impressive album that translates well into live performance, thanks in no small part to pulling together a line-up of multi-talented musicians to bring the whole shindig to life, some of whom harken back to Garland’s stint with Berkshire Hounds.

Turn Out is available on CD and vinyl at PR Newman’s album release show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. Of course, it’s not a party without your friends, so Mean Jolene, Batty Jr. and Star Parks are all on board for the blitz. The music starts at 9:30 p.m.

Get there early to see all of the bands. Very recommended.
