The local hardcore-roots hoodlums have been invited to do a special Thursday Friendship Hour each week at the Scoot throughout May. This will especially be a treat for anyone who’s not seen them live. This kind of excellent musicianship, paired with a mix of original and traditional roots and bluegrass tunes, needs to be experienced in person. They pack a room and work the crowd into a maniacal frenzy. I’ve had good reason to say before: The band is crazy, but the fans, crazier.
This week, Whiskey Shivers are joined by two other fantastic bands on the bill: The folk-rock outfit that ran away with my heart, MARYANN, and the far-out psychedelic dub pop band Holiday Mountain. All local bands. Sounds like triple bill goodness to me, baby. See them all perform tonight at the Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th at Navasota. It’s an early show that starts at 8 p.m. Recommended.
