Fun Times Three

The line-ups over the years have been consistently awesome for Fun Fun Fun Fest, and this year is no exception. And what gives FFF Fest an even bigger appeal is the inclusion of quite a few Austin-based acts on the bill. Your friendly neighborhood Austin Music Minute hostess has some recommendations for you on the local front, in no particular order because…well, they’re all worth checking out:

Dana Falconberry: 1 p.m. Friday, Orange Stage. Extraordinary and enchanting songwriter, musician and vocalist.

The Digital Wild: 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Blue Stage. Electronic soul with some rap/hip-hop vibes thrown down.

Communion: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Black Stage. Local trio bringing you massive, soul-crunching heavy psych-rock.

The Sour Notes: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Orange Stage. Multi-talented DIY psych/pop outfit.

Good Field: 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Orange Stage. Genuinely gorgeous music, mixing shoegaze, rock, and pop.

Crooked Bangs: 11:55 a.m. Sunday, Black Stage. Fuzzed-up punk with all manner of riffs and hooks, and atonal mastery.

This Will Destroy You: 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Orange Stage. Visceral instrumental rock to completely immerse yourself in.

Zorch (featured on today’s AMM): 12:10 p.m. Saturday, Blue Stage. Electronic duo that will rattle your headspace and get you moving.

Soundfounder: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Blue Stage. Solo artist and avid audiophile reveling in the artistry of creating sonic experiences with multiple sounds.
