Future Disco

CAPYAC fully embraces their self-proclaimed dance floor weapon of choice, which they’ve dubbed “futuristic disco.” The Austin-based otherworldly duo knocks out beats flowing on waves of interstellar funk jams immersed in pulsating chillwave, shades of new wave, and hip-hop waving the P-Funk banner on high on their new EP, Movement Swallows Us. And they’re not about to leave all this at the auditory level. CAPYAC’s live performances are multi-sensory experiences with everything from back-up dancers and singers to horn players, mad-skill rappers, and oddly inviting hallucinatory visuals illuminated in colors that the brain didn’t even know existed. This – is – a – show, and Movement is merely a glimpse into a full-length endeavor about to be unleashed next year.

To celebrate the new music, CAPYAC is having their EP release show tonight at The Parish, 214 E. 6th St. And thanks to special guests Ishi and the multi-talented Henry + The Invisibles, it’s going to be more like one massive dance party than a show. Doors open at 8 p.m.

There will be no sitting at this gig. You’ll be too busy moving. Recommended.
