GTZ Records Presents

This wouldn’t necessarily be the calm before the proverbial storm… Actually, your humble Austin Music Minute host has uttered exasperatedly, time and again, that the chaos seems to begin a bit earlier every year.

Perhaps, or perhaps not. Either way, SXSW has pretty much descended upon our fair city, initiating the explosion of events and showcases in every venue or available space. Feels like it, anyway.

If you’re out and about this evening seeking that very vibe, but with a strong local presence in excellent music, here’s your party: The GTZ Records Presents showcase at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. Literally every band on this bill, in one form or another, has been lauded by the AMM – Cross Record, Black Books (“Really Nice To See You” from the album Can’t Even was featured on today’s AMM), Marmalakes, Shmu, Sailor Poon, Holy Wave, Otis the Destroyer and All Eyes (featuring current and former members of Ume, The Octopus Project, The Sword and Stiletto Feels).

You can see them all tonight at Cheer Up’s, woman. Doors at 8 p.m., and the music starts at 9 p.m. Holy hell, this is all so good. Very recommended.
