Harmonizm

Who: Let the funk flow through your veins. Funk/soul/R&B outfit T Bird & The Breaks always gets the crowds moving and grooving with ’60s and ’70s-inspired jams to sweat to. But this ain’t no retro show. Multiple musical influences flow into what they call their “kitchen-sink-style” rhythms and harmonies.

What: The gang was at KUTX recently for a performance in Studio 1A to celebrate the release of Harmonizm, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The partying will continue with not only one, but two release shows for your listening and dancing pleasure.

When and where: There’s a release party tonight at The Continental Club, 1315 S. Congress Ave., with the phenom Ruby Jane opening the show. And there’s another party tomorrow night at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St., with the mighty Riders Against the Storm on the bill. Decisions, decisions! Or you could even catch both.

Why: T Bird & The Breaks are feeling the love, and they wanna say thank you. Check it. Make sure you’ve got on your dancing shoes. Recommended.
