Heavy

This is not for softies. Just putting that out there. It’s as if you’ve gotten a head start to build up speed, run very quickly and crash head-on into this huge, jagged, Game of Thrones-sized rock wall – on purpose.

All Songs Considered writer Lars Gotrich nailed it when he mused CCR Headcleaner‘s monstrous psych rumblings might have emerged from individuals “spawned from the spores of an alternate-universe San Francisco psych scene that’s less pop and more bong-ripped hedonism.” Which translates into instant love for your Austin Music Minute maven. Imagine mutant psych unleashed from the sludge-and-drudge catacombs, wreaking havoc upon all the senses.

Chalk it up to killer noise you need to check out. CCR Headcleaner’s tour includes a stop in Austin for a show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River. Just thinking about this line-up will leave the ears ringing: Bridge Farmers, True Empty and NIKE. The music starts at 9 p.m.

Do not leave the earplugs at home. This one comes very recommended.
