Heavy Live

Time to go to Church. Just so you know, they’re recording it for posterity. Well…sort of.

Actually, it’s The Electric Church in East Austin, 5018 E. Cesar Chavez, and it’s DUEL recording a live album utilizing a mobile recording unit sick enough to make any studio geek drool with joy. It’s equipped with a vintage console specially wired to track bands performing inside the former Jesus Is Alive Ministries building-turned-underground-venue. Perhaps “epic” is an overused term, but that’s the level of this tremendous experience, with heavy-hitting DUEL bringing out every high-voltage element of their live performance at top volume.

Tonight marks the second night of their two-night whirlwind recording bash. If you missed out last night, you have one more chance tonight at The Electric Church. Greenbeard and Max Cherry round out the bill. Doors open early at 7 p.m. And, as if you needed reminding, don’t leave the earplugs at home. These guys are serious.

Seriously demented. Recommended.
