In March, the Austin Music Minute featured a little sneak preview of experimental psych-rockers Food Group‘s forthcoming album with the single, “Sleepwalker.” Now, the follow up to their EP You Are drops today. Here Today explores an expansive sonic territory similar to the band’s earlier releases, like their 2013 ambient, trippy mind-meld Hope All Is Well, but a little more on the dark end of the spectrum.
Catch Food Group at their album release show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River. They share the bill with an impressive line-up: Thor & Friends, Botany, SMILE, Millbrook Estates and Zettajoule. Recommended.
