Kathryn Legendre got her start as an Old Soul, and indeed, the sorrow and those whiskey-infused tears on that 2013 debut came from a soul beyond Legendre’s years. Twelve years later, maybe a bit older (but just a bit), she shines like ‘70s country gold on her latest, Here’s Your Honky Tonk, mixing new songs like the tear ‘em up title track and the sweetly devastating “Best Western Breakdown”, and a few familiar faves including “Cigarettes” and toked-up “The Day I Smoked A J With Ray” with special guest Mr. Benson himself.
Legendre packs the dance floor starting at 10 p.m. tomorrow night at The White Horse, sharing the bill with absolute Austin legends Silverada, and badass homemade honky tonk courtesy of Hobby Rancher. Treat yourself and get there early for a great happy hour set with Shad Blair at 5:30 p.m.
