Who: KUTX Song of the Day producer and host Art Levy hit the nail on the head when he described the music of local quartet Löwin. Definitely a sizzling, massive ’70s feel with so many delicious riffs, and their new EP Royal Jelly “somehow splits the difference between Heart and Dinosaur Jr.” Yes, and YES. There’s no denying the exquisite touches of the vocals by front woman Sara Houser.
What: Their EP has just been released, and of course, this calls for a celebration with a big release party!
When and where: Tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. All of Löwin’s rowdy friends are in on the fun – MILEZO, New Orleans rock trio Bantam Foxes, Otis the Destroyer and Chancellor. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Why: Prepare to rock out, and get there early to see all of these bands. Looking forward to more from Löwin soon. Very recommended.
