Low Hi Low

Who: In 2013, roughly a year after making the life-changing decision to leave UT Austin, songwriter and producer Max Frost released a single, “White Lies.” Something about its modern sound combined with its classic feel made it instantly infectious. Frost tells the tale of picking up those really sketch vibes…love takes a wrong turn when his lady isn’t being so honest about where she’s been – and who with. The track blew up pretty quickly, and before long, Frost poured more of that energy, and his reverence for soul, funk and hip-hop. into his EP Low Hi Low. Atlantic Records sat up and took notice.

What: Frost has since released another new song, “Let Me Down Easy,” and you can bet a new full-length is in the works. Meanwhile, he’ll be sharing the tunes in Austin at his next performance.

When: Tonight, with doors opening at 8 p.m. And you best get there early to catch the fab Tameca Jones opening the show at 9 p.m.

Where: The Parish, 214 E. 6th St.

Why: This one’s an instant dance party and a must-see. All good. Recommended.
