Made You A Mixtape

Daisy O’Connor knows that dark times can weigh the spirit down, but she also carries this important bit of wisdom with her: Music can save your life. It saved hers. She creates and plays her guitar because this, all of it, is her life’s blood, every single note coursing through her veins. If her music can also inspire someone else to do the same, she’s all the richer for it. And a tip o’ the hat to all the friends and loved ones who’ve inspired her in turn, among those being dear friend and fellow songwriter Steve Poltz, who co-wrote the title track to her popular debut EP Do Be Do.

That warmth radiating from O’Connor’s voice is genuine, and on her new EP Mixtape, it flows naturally with each genre-blending track. Experience the magic for yourself when you hear the new music at her EP release show tonight at the Cactus Cafe, 24th St. and Guadalupe in the Texas Union. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.

The sweetest sounds from a sweet, sweet soul. Recommended.
