Make Believe

Boyfrndz musical plate runneth over, with their album Breeder, a SXSW confirmation, a perfectly dark and eerie new video for the track “Make Believe,” and the launch of a busy tour with New Orleans-based experimental pop duo Caddywhompus. Then, starting in late March, their tour partners will be local experimental noise pop/rock quartet Future Death. It makes perfect sense for these bands to tour together. Each makes an art out of chaos, kicking the energy levels up several notches and fearlessly leaping about in their intricately crafted sonic annihilation. Bragging? Yes. You need to see them at their live shows.

Send Boyfrndz and Caddywhompus off in style with their tour kick-off show tonight at Red 7, 611 E. 7th St. Seriously, this is one hell of a bill, with shoegaze/dream-pop artist Shmu, Fort Worth experimental trio Cleanup, and local post-rock duo Chipper Jones. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 9 p.m.

This one’s so recommended it hurts. An Austin Music Minute favorite for sure.
