If The Regrettes can make even typically jaded critics throwing their weight round the LA scene bubble over with enthusiasm, you know badassery is afoot. Even better, it’s a band that embraces being “perfectly imperfect,” brandishing a glorious punk aesthetic with an infectious pop/rock vibe. Front woman Lydia Night describes their songs (lyrically speaking) as a diary entry into her life – crossing the spectrum of emotions, every last bit. No fear, no apologies. Right in your face.
An Austin Music Minute favorite, naturally. The Regrettes are in town for a show tonight at Stubb’s, 801 Red River, on the inside stage. Equally badass Left Coast punk band Destroy Boys opens the show. Doors at 9 p.m. Recommended.
