Today’s Austin Music Minute featured Brooklyn-based artist Oshwa‘s single “Off You Go,” released earlier this month and every bit as exuberant as fans would expect it to be. Oshwa, the recently reinvented art-pop musical project of songwriter Alicia Walter, carries a euphoric, animated pop style paired with a sharp eye for choreography. Following the release of the album I We You Me, Walter decided to follow her vision of Oshwa as a solo project and allow it to evolve as a more physical performance.
Here’s a must-see show for you tonight. Oshwa’s current tour includes a stop in Austin for a show at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th St. She shares the bill with Austin artists Food Group, Dwight Smith and Jana Horn. Doors open at 8 p.m. Recommended.
