Moving Panorama‘s song “One” was recently featured as the KUTX Song of the Day, just a glimpse into the rich, shoe-gazey/dream pop songwriting sphere of this talented Austin-based trio that leaves you wanting more. They’ve combined their collective shoegaze influences with sublime intertwining vocals, courting a kind of simplicity in their music but keeping it full and expansive.
It’s little surprise that the bandmates each have a rich musical history. Vocalist/guitarist Leslie Sisson (The Wooden Birds) and drummer Karen Skloss (Black Lipstick, Black Forest Fire) have known each other several years, and bassist Rozie Castoe joined them at a pivotal time. They were ready to move forward with diverse and newly-inspired ideas.
This is another must-see live show. Make plans to catch Moving Panoramas tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1500 E. 6th St. And it’s a fantastic bill all around, with sets by Ramesh, Hidden Ritual, and Polio Club. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Go for it. So recommended.
