Psychic Taco Rock

It doesn’t matter what reviews you read when it comes to music. Words rarely suffice, no matter how much you run off at the mouth into babbling, hysterically uber-descriptive newly invented adjectives or (geeky Star Trek film reference here) colorful metaphors . Ever. That rant being unleashed, it’s refreshing to come across a band like Hundred Visions and their own self-described chaos: “Psychic taco rock.” Sounds good to me.

The Austin-based quartet spent a good portion of last month on a West Coast tour, which included a stop to play Missoula, Montana’s Total Fest, a volunteer-run, DIY nonprofit festival focusing on independent and underground music acts. It was a great way to get their music out to newer audiences and make new connections. After returning home, the band dived right into working on their next album, the follow-up to last year’s release, Permanent Basement. More awesome things to come.

Don’t miss Hundred Visions when they play Friday night at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. Great stuff on the entire bill, featuring Daniel Francis Doyle, Basketball Shorts and Fayetteville, AK shoegaze/dream-pop psych-sters Poppy Red. Doors open at 9 p.m. So recommended.
