Silver Ships began as the musical project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chazz Bessette in 2010. Bessette, who’s behind all the instrumentation you hear on the forthcoming LP Songs From A Room That Never Moves, does his composing and recording at home, giving meticulous attention to each detail in his songs. And that kind of dedication to musicianship and all the finely-crafted complexities within Silver Ships’ rich, Nilsson-esque psych/folk-pop has paid off in their live performances, as well.
Songs will be released digitally on October 29th (with a show at Holy Mountain) and on vinyl in early January, but you can see Silver Ships perform tonight at Spider House Ballroom, 2906 Fruth St. They share the bill with the Ballroom’s October artist of the month Zettajoule and outer-space psych alchemists Obscured By Echoes. Doors open at 8 p.m. Recommended.
