This year marks the third anniversary of Austin’s Solstice Festival, a community event celebrating local art and music with live performances, artist displays and family activities. Although the actual festival kicks off tomorrow at noon out at Pan Am Park in East Austin, tonight’s the night Solstice Fest takes over venues across the city for pre-party madness.
–Magna Carda (featured on today’s Austin Music Minute), Big Bill and RetrOgRaDe got you covered at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St.
–Night Drive, Holiday Mountain, and Mama K and The Shades are part of the big line-up at the Mohawk, 912 Red River.
–Tele Novella and Hooka Hey are on the bill out at The Sahara Lounge, 1413 Webberville Rd.
–Shark Rider‘s got a massive EP release party at Stay Gold, 1910 E. Cesar Chavez.
These are just a handful of parties going down. The festival website has all the details and locations for each party this evening, as does their Facebook party listing. You’ve got a busy night ahead, and so much to choose from. The AMM says GO for it. Recommended.
